Birmingham New Street Station Atrium, Grand Central Birmingham

On Saturday June 9th City of Birmingham Rockets Wheelchair Basketball Team delivered a day of wheelchair basketball to the public at Birmingham New Street Station and Grand Central with the support of Network Rail and Express Coaching Services

This was an amazing day and supported our promotion of disability/inclusion sport in Birmingham with thousands of passers- by able to witness and take part in wheelchair basketball.

Led by Rocket’s Head Wheelchair Coach Andy Craddock, the team successfully displayed their skills and also raised profile for the club, breaking down some of the misconceptions and barriers to disability and inclusion sport.

The club were supported by DJ David Waite for the event which made for a very enjoyable day, with the public playing wheelchair basketball and rocking to the tunes.

This was yet another successful day for City of Birmingham Rockets as we continue to support disability and diversity in Birmingham and provide opportunities for all.
