We are really pleased to announce our new initiative which will see the City of Birmingham Rockets Wheelchair Basketball Club formed.

Head coach Andy Craddock has worked tirelessly to set this club up, and we can announce that the official launch evening will take place on Wednesday 15th November from 6-8pm at Nechells Wellbeing Centre.

The Lord Taverner’s along with current GB international wheelchair players will be present to hand over new chairs to the club following which there will be an exhibition game including some of the club’s new wheelchair players along with some of our current members.

Rockets Managing Director Robert Palmer said ” This is something we have been working towards with Andy over quite some time. We are proud to be adding a wheelchair section to the club which enables us to make a valuable provision in Birmingham within disability sport.

Andy is full of passion and energy for wheelchair basketball. He shares our values so it has been a pleasure to help him realise his dream. The wheelchair club will form an integral part of the Rockets organisation moving forward”.

The newly formed team will be using the remainder of this season to prepare for a league entry in 2018. We are searching for new players so if you’d like to come along and join in then contact us at enquiries@cobbasketball.co.uk
