COB Performance Camp Success
COB delivered it’s first Performance Camp on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st February at Nechells Community Sports Centre. During the 2 days just under 100 COB participants took part in 12 hours of camp including a wide range of performance related activities as club coaches work to ensure COB players are given all the necessary support and opportunity to reach their optimum levels.
The club were delighted to have ex COB and current BBL professional player Martyn Gayle lend a hand on the second day of camp passing on tips and advice on shooting which provided a grew insight into his mindset.
COB Director of Basketball and Camp Director Rob Palmer said ” Our goal is to move the club forwardanother level in terms of both performance and participation on and off the court. This performance camp was the first step in ensuring we could establish a set of common principles across the club. The large amount of COB players and amount of basketball the club offer can make this difficult at times, but with the great numbers at camp from each age group, we believe we have made some excellent first steps forward in this process. The attitude and application of the players was excellent and the camp was a huge success for COB”
