COB unveil Rockets logo!!

City of Birmingham Basketball Club are extremely pleased to officially launch our new Rockets name and logo today!

The logo along with the new City of Birmingham Rockets name for our teams will see the club move into a new era as we enter our 15th year of existence, making COB one of the longest serving clubs in the UK in addition to hosting one of the largest junior programmes.

Club CEO Kirk Dawes said ‘This is a proud day for the club as we continue our journey forward. We are committed to an extensive and high quality provision of basketball opportunities for the young people of Birmingham and the West Midlands whilst working tirelessly to ensure the participants receive high level, quality coaching on a consistent basis along with mentoring and educational support as part of our CoB Family.”

Managing Director Rob Palmer added “Our organisation’s successful and progressive relationship with NBA and Houston Rockets legend Hakeem ‘The Dream’ Olajuwon made the addition of the ‘Rockets’ strap line the automatic choice for us moving forward.”

The club will adopt the new playing name and logo with immediate effect and are looking forward to the 2017/18 season where we have 13 teams competing in a range of competitions varying from National League Premier to West Midlands Youth Basketball League competitions.

We anticipate our club playing membership base will swell to over 1250 young basketball players for the forthcoming year with several exciting initiatives lined up during the next 12 months.

It’s a great time to be at COB as the Rockets officially get set to launch!
